A Non-Profit Helping To Find Homes

The Incredible Pups Pet Rescue: A Non-Profit Helping To Find Homes

Why Start A Pet Rescue?

In this episode, Dana Jones, former guest with Accessadoor, LLC talks about working with her newest project, The Incredible Pups Pet Rescue, a local rescue that works with high kill shelters to save those animals that have little chance of survival in overburdened locations.

These shelters, primarily located in the southern states, due to less strict spay and neuter policies than New York, have such a high turnover rate that most animals cannot be stored for more than a few days. Working with these shelters, Incredible Pups Pet Rescue has found homes for over 60 animals in the short time it has been active this year.

Her team has been extremely active in creating exposure for their cause. This past year, Incredible Pups has been prominently displayed in front of the Hudson Valley Renegades and the Poughkeepsie First Friday events to name just a couple.

Continuing education on Spay and Neuter programs is also important for this group. All of this doesn’t come without a cost. Dana has been working to gain sponsorships and donations for things like their upcoming Incredible Dash 5K, as well as assisting with materials for the foster homes, everything from food to puppy pads.

The Incredible Dash 5K at Barton Orchards

September 28th is “World’s Largest Pet Walk” Day and The Incredible Pup Pet Rescue is celebrating it alongside their Sponsor, Barton Orchards with the 1st Annual Incredible Dash 5K. A family and furry friendly day with raffles, awards, entertainment and a great walk/run in beautiful Barton Orchards.

And stick around because Barton Orchards has apple picking and even their own Tree Top course to entertain you for the afternoon.

Make sure you head out to the 1st Annual Incredible Dash 5K Walk & Run at Barton Orchards on September 28th starting at 9am!

What's Next...

With The Incredible Pups Pet Rescue gaining exposure by attending Hudson Valley events and public outings, Dana sees it’s support growing. Another area she is very excited about is their partnership with organizations like The Lola Project, which educates and advocates for mental health awareness and using the benefits of service dogs, especially for military and first responders. As of this writing, this collaboration called Paws & Boots placed its first pup, a 3-year-old named Nicholas from South Carolina, with the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department, NY Local 596. He will be living there full time until he is adopted.

This is now the third event (Think Dutchess Innovation Challenge) and the second interview that I’ve had with Dana. As an emerging entrepreneur in the Hudson Valley, she embodies all of the qualities that make me proud to be associated with her. Accessadoor, LLC along with her team, is helping those in need at a very affordable cost with access which otherwise may never have been available. With The Incredible Pups Pet Rescue, Dana and her team are not only finding homes for these animals but also helping families and individuals experience the loving unconditional love of these otherwise doomed animals.
